The Bui Hydropower Project is located on the Black Volta River in western Ghana. The controlled watershed area upstream of the dam site is 123,000 km?, with a long-term average flow rate of 207 m?/s at the dam site and an average annual runoff of 6.523 billion m?. The primary purposes of the project are power generation and irrigation. The normal storage level of the Bui Hydropower Station reservoir is 183 m NLD, with a corresponding storage capacity of 12.57 billion m?. The dead water level is 168 m NLD, providing a regulated storage capacity of 5.52 billion m? and multi-year regulation capability. The hub structures consist of a water-retaining dam, intake structures, penstocks, and an above-ground powerhouse. The water diversion system adopts a "one-penstock-per-unit" layout, and the tailwater system is arranged per unit. The installed capacity of the power station is 400 MW (3 ¡Á 133.34 MW), with a guaranteed output of 342 MW and an average annual energy generation of 1.004 billion kWh. The power station's outgoing line voltage level is 161 kV, with four lines: one to the NEW KUMASI substation (transmission distance: 212 km), one to the TECHIMAN substation (transmission distance: 104 km), one to the KUMASI substation (transmission distance: 219 km), and one to the WA substation (transmission distance: 231 km).
Our company was contracted to supply a total of eight (8) sets of hydraulic hoists for this project, including:
Three (3) sets of 3,200 kN/1,600 kN hydraulic hoists for the power intake;
One (1) set of 630 kN/250 kN hydraulic hoists for the small unit intake;
Five (5) sets of 2,500 kN hydraulic hoists for the spillway surface outlets.
